LIVING ON THE BRIDGE
STUDIO 5 | EXCHANGE | DENMARK | 2024
This project involves designing a house for 13 students as part of a unique development of 16 buildings atop a bridge in Copenhagen. Drawing inspiration from Scandinavian design, particularly the vernacular and Danish farmhouse styles, the building reflects a minimalist aesthetic and a deep connection to local architectural traditions.
The ground floor features a flexible dining hall and vintage market, encouraging community interaction and adapting to various uses. The design is influenced by my exchange experience in Denmark, which inspired the integration of simplicity, functionality, and communal living—hallmarks of Scandinavian architecture.
The building maximizes space efficiency while providing comfort, blending private living areas with vibrant shared spaces. The bridge location offers a distinctive urban experience, combining modern student housing with a communal hub. This project exemplifies how traditional Scandinavian design principles can be reimagined in a contemporary urban context, fostering a strong sense of community.
